I have spent more than a decade behind the lens, studying intently in college and on my own. In addition, I spent several years in a newsroom working with top-caliber photographers as a page designer, learning from all angles how to tell a compelling and effective story with photography. I continue to voraciously learn to this day, and never intend to let up.

Experience

2006-Present: Full-time, professional freelance photographer. Photographing everything from concerts, models, bands, friends hanging out and many other things you can point a camera at.

October 2005-April 2006: Page designer at The Denver Post, Denver's leading newspaper. This was a six-month position to fill in for another designer who took a sabbatical, and not an internship. I worked professionally and on a full-time schedule. I also worked with extremely talented photographers, learning even more how to visually tell a story.

May 2000-October 2005: Page designer and copy editor for East Texas newspapers The Daily Sentinel (In Nacogdoches), The Longview News-Journal (in Longview) and the Kilgore News Herald (in Kilgore). Much more detail available about this and other

Skills

Highly proficient with 35mm SLR and D-SLR cameras, lenses and accessories. Skilled with off-camera lighting, primarily radio-controlled flashes used as highly portable studio-style lighting. I have experience in black and white darkrooms and some with medium format cameras. I'm always learning and looking for new toys.

I am also very knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. I am a rabid Mac user, but also know how to use Windows.
